The modern fast-food landscape has conditioned pizza lovers to accept a disappointing compromise: thin, flimsy pies that sacrifice substance for speed. A standard large pizza might spread wide across a cardboard box, but once you lift a slice, the center collapses and the cheese slides right off.
True satisfaction isn’t measured by the diameter of a box. It is determined by the weight, depth and volume of ingredients built into every square inch of the pan.
That is the idea behind Argentinian pizza, and it is why we opened Obsession Pizza in Orlando.
What Is Argentinian Pizza?
While most Americans know New York foldables and Chicago deep dish, one of the world’s great pizza capitals is still a hidden gem in the United States: Buenos Aires.
On the avenues of Buenos Aires, historic pizzerias like Guerrín and El Cuartito have spent generations perfecting a style called media masa (“half dough”). The dough proofs in the pan until it rises into a tall, airy, sponge-like crust with a crisp golden bottom. It is thicker than a New York slice, lighter than a deep dish, and strong enough to carry a serious amount of cheese.
The best-known Argentinian pie is the fugazzeta: a pizza stuffed with melted cheese and topped with sweet onions and a drizzle of olive oil. At Obsession Pizza, our signature Obsession pizza is our take on that Buenos Aires classic.
Argentinian Pizza in Orlando, Florida
Obsession Pizza is an Argentinian-style pizzeria in southeast Orlando, at 6889 Eagle Watch Dr, Ste 230, Orlando, FL 32822. We bake media masa pizza every day, in two sizes:
- MD 10″ — a personal pie with all the weight of the full-size version.
- BIG 15″ — built to share with family and friends.
Beyond pizza, the menu brings the flavors of an Argentinian corner bakery to Orlando:
- Empanadas — traditional Argentinian empanadas with slow-cooked beef, onions, spices and chopped egg.
- Calzones, salads and appetizers — garlic knots made from our pizza dough, wings, mozzarella sticks and more.
- Coffee and bakery — for an Argentinian-style merienda, the afternoon coffee break.
- Gelato and desserts — including sundaes and affogato.

A Century of Bakery Tradition
Obsession Pizza was born from a family heritage shaped by ovens, tradition and the people who lived their lives through food. That bakery background is why we care so much about the dough: a media masa crust is only as good as its fermentation, and we treat it the way a baker treats bread.
The result is a pizza you can feel when you pick up the box.
